Evernote Hacked

Evernote Free Account Holders' Information May Have Been Stolen

Last month, Twitter had its information stolen as a result of an attack on 250,000 users. Hackers who exploit cyber vulnerabilities have now done the same to Evernote by attacking its servers. Following Sony, LinkedIn, Godaddy, and Twitter, an attack to access Evernote data has affected 50 million note-taking system members. Evernote, noticing unusual activity in its server logs, announced that it had been subjected to a cyber attack and asked its users to change their passwords. Evernote stated that no commercial data or bank account records were affected by the attack, and that the accounts of Evernote Premium members could not be accessed. This means that Premium Evernote members were not affected by the attack, but changing passwords for free users is considered a requirement for their own security.

Information Obtained as a Result of the Attack

As a result of the cyber attack, Evernote shared email addresses, usernames, and passwords. Currently, Evernote is requesting a password change upon login.
