Why are Meta Tags Important?
Metas, known as meta tags, enable search engine bots to recognize a site and list the site and its content in search results according to the specified meta information. The most important meta tags consist of three sections: title, description, and keywords.
The title is the text displayed in the upper bar of web browsers and is also the first title shown in search engine results. The description is generally a short explanation related to the site's topic and is the second part displayed in search engine results. Keywords, again related to the site's content and topic, are short words separated by commas (,) that help the site gain importance in search results and rank for those keywords.Don't Leave Title and Description Fields Empty
Title and description are the most important meta tags because search engines rank results based on this information. Keywords act as a sort of supporter for these tags. Generally, title and description tags should be fixed on the homepage but can change on static pages that are newly added and updated.
This means that titles and descriptions related to the content of the subpages should be specified for those pages. The title should be at most 70 words, the description at most 200 words, and keywords at most 20.
